When it comes to custom construction, modifications, or normal repair and maintenance of your dock or bulkhead, you'll need to acquire the appropriate permits. Although the process may be confusing, we have the experience and expertise to simplify and help you through the maze. We'll explain the permit process and tell you what is and isn't required, and how much it will cost, and we'll take action to acquire permits for you as quickly and efficiently as possible to ensure your job is done correctly.

Read about how the proposed code changes may affect you:

New dock construction

Existing dock additions and reconfigurations

Normal maintenance and repair

Bulkhead repair and restoration

Federal, State and Local Regulations

No Extra Fees

Acquiring permits goes hand-in-hand with the construction work we do. While other construction companies may add additional fees to their permitting services, or send your permit application to be completed by outside engineers with their own fees, we focus on getting the permit so we can get back to building the finest marine construction projects on Lake Washington.

We Know How to Obtain Your Permits

With over 62 years of experience constructing docks and bulkheads on Lake Washington, we've seen just about everything, so we know what can and can't be done. Call us for additional information, andwe can discuss the permits that may be required for your project.

ATTENTION
WATERFRONT PROPERTY OWNERS

We have learned that federal, state, and local jurisdictions will be updating their Shoreline Codes for 2010. Some local jurisdictions have been updating their codes for the last couple of years. No agency is releasing information about the updated codes, but we have been told to expect additional limitations and restrictions on dock construction, starting with permits issued in 2010.

We have heard that the federal agencies want to limit the length of docks to 60' or less.We can only assume that the state will want to reduce the dock width to less than 6'.

You may want to consider starting your dock permit process now, even if you don't plan to build a new or updated dock for 2-3 years.

Applying for your permits now, before the new limitations go into effect, will allow you to construct one of the last large docks on Lake Washington to create real value for your property.
